Historically, the garden was part of an orchard associated with the adjacent Manor House and is home to a mature apple tree, believed to be over a century old.
A small stream at the bottom of the garden connects to a mature wildlife corridor and local community allotments.

The garden has been designed to celebrate the site's history whilst creating a contemporary, ecologically conscious, low-water, low-maintenance garden that works for family life.

The design is inspired by a traditional orchard quincunx pattern, setting up a series of interconnected garden rooms.
